STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR THE PURCHASE OF 2024 UTME/DE REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS

PROFILE CREATION

Each candidate would be required to use a unique phone (mobile) number (SIM) for the registration process. Only one candidate may use the unique phone number. (Note: This number (SIM) will remain your unique identification for all future transactions/applications with the Board).

Candidate will text his or her National Identification Number (NIN) to 55019 or 66019 from his or her personal GSM number. For example, write “NIN” followed by a space and your 11-digit NIN Number and send to 55019 or 66019 in this format (NIN 00123456789). There should be a space between the word “NIN” and your 11-digit NIN (Note that the number cannot have previously been used to register for UTME/DE). Use of post-paid or special bundle package lines is not permitted. They are inoperative unless specially loaded with credit.

BEFORE CREATING YOUR PROFILE, CHECK YOUR DATA WITH NIMC TO ENSURE YOUR DETAILS AGREE WITH YOUR CLAIMS AS THERE WILL BE NO CHANGE OF NAME OR DATE OF BIRTH. CHANGES IN DATA BY NIMC WILL BE UPDATED ON JAMB RECORDS FOR 2024. REPLACED DATA, ON THE OTHER HAND, WILL BE TRACKED AND REFLECTED AS A FOOT NOTE ON THE CANDIDATE’S PROFILE.

On the same telephone (SIM) number, the candidate will receive a Profile Code of 10 characters. Returning Candidates from previous years will receive the same profile code and phone number as before. It should be noted that the candidate’s profile remains the same for current and future Board applications.

The phone (mobile) number used for the text message is automatically linked to the Candidate’s name and will be used in all future communication relating to each candidate’s 2024 Application, Examination, and Admission. CANDIDATES SHOULD REMEMBER AND NOTE THE SIM-NUMBER USED. IT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION WITH THE BOARD.

A CANDIDATE HAS ACCEPTED TO RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES FROM JAMB (55019 OR 66019) BY OBTAINING UTME APPLICATION DOCUMENTS, EVEN IF THE “DO NOT DISTURB” (DND) 15 IS ACTIVATED.

The candidate will present the profile code at the point of application document procurement (from Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, and USSD Partners). The candidate’s phone is then texted with an e-PIN.

To register, the candidate must present the Profile code and e-PIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre.

The application cannot be completed until the candidate’s biometrics (all ten fingers) are captured and a physical photograph is taken (no passport photograph submission). After successfully capturing biometrics and a photograph, a candidate will be able to print his or her e-registration slip (Candidate must use at least two fingers: either of the two can be used to print his or her registration slip). Any further transaction with JAMB on the candidate’s profile will require fingerprint verification.

SELF SERVICE: Computer-literate candidates can register unaided at JAMB offices/PRCs.

RETRIEVAL OF PROFILE CODE AND SELF-SERVICE (IN CASE OF MISTAKE/LOSS)

To recover a lost Profile Code, text the word [RESEND] to 55019 or 66019 from the same mobile number.
